Neighbouring Rights (NR) revenue earned through the public performance of your recordings (via PPL) is included in your monthly financial statements within the LMS. This income is processed alongside your other revenue streams but can be isolated and reviewed using specific filters and exports.
How to Access Neighbouring Rights Reports
All NR financial information is housed within the accounting section of the LMS:
- Navigate to the Label Accounting tab.
- Click on NR Statement.
- Statements are issued monthly; you will receive an automated email notification as soon as a new report is live.
Reports Showing Neighbouring Rights Income
There are two primary ways to analyse your NR earnings within the system:
1. Label Statement Page
This provides a granular, line-by-line breakdown of your NR income. It allows you to:
- View specific earnings for every individual track or release.
- See NR revenue displayed alongside your streaming and download income.
- Filter data by Artist, Release, Track, or Territory to identify exactly where your music is being performed.
- Export the data to CSV for use in external accounting software or spreadsheets.
2. Product Summary Page
This page offers a high-level overview of performance across your entire catalogue for the period. It is useful for:
- Identifying which releases are generating the most public performance income.
- Viewing a monthly snapshot of total NR revenue per product.
- Quickly spotting trends in broadcast or venue performance.
Interpreting Your Data
Neighbouring Rights income relates specifically to the Master Copyright. When reviewing your statements, keep the following in mind:
- Source: NR revenue typically comes from radio, TV, or music played in public venues.
- Filtering: Use the LMS filtering tools to separate NR income from digital sales if you need to report these separately to your artists.
- Agreements: Your specific revenue share is governed by your NR agreement. A signed copy of this document is always available for reference under the Neighbouring Rights section in the LMS.
